YES! How many times has this happened to you:

gene set for some obscure, uncharacterized
genome. You google for a pre-trained gene-finder for your genome, in
the off chance that some poor grad student has already labored for
months to produce precisely the tool you need, but----no such luck. Bummer! So you go through the agony of downloading a general-purpose gene prediction program, training it, and running it on the current (probably lousy) assembly of your study genome. Just the training process alone turns out to be a nightmare.
